Director of Strategy and Operations

Greg Schaefer

Greg joined DysTech in 2023, and serves as the Director of Strategy and Operations. He has worked relentlessly to grow DysTech’s federal business and capabilities, aligning our values and proficiencies to meet the current and future needs of our clients. One example of this was the creation of the Service Member and Military Family Community of Practice (SMMF CoP). This CoP brings DysTech’s best and brightest together to solve emerging problems and re-think what the art of the possible is when delivering support programs to the military community.

Prior to joining DysTech, Greg has worked in Consulting, Program Management, and Business Development roles for multiple firms, including Deloitte’s Government and Public Sector (GPS) practice. He has consulted and managed programs with dozens of agencies across the federal government, including DOD, DOS, DOJ, DHS, and more.

Greg is also a decorated Marine with nearly 15 years of service. His first five years were on active duty in the Infantry where he deployed several times, including combat deployments to Afghanistan and Yemen. He has continued to serve since then in a reserve capacity as a Civil-Military Planning Chief, having deployed in support Operation Allies Welcome from 2021-2022, as well as several multi-national exercises in Eastern Europe.

After leaving active duty, Greg continued his education, receiving Bachelors and Masters degrees from American University in Washington, D.C. He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife and two children, and volunteers his time helping transitioning military members establish their civilian careers.
